Critical Spirit

Some mornings I rise, I praise God and dive into the Bible searching for those topics which enhance my praise and understanding. Other days, I tentatively crawl into God’s presence as He says, “quit squirming child, I have something to teach you today…” I have delayed this lesson…

But am beginning an outline because whether or not I like a lesson, I pray for ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart to understand what it is that God has to say…

and I know that many life decisions, and course corrections hinge upon these most difficult lessons.

You know those Bible verses you look for in the Bible but can’t seem to find them?

Acts 17:11 These were more [d]fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

key words: crictical spirit
a critical spirit has to be bad, right?

synonyms of critical: analytical, discriminating
OR: derogatory, sarcastic

Maybe, like so many things, it’s not so much what you have, but what you do with it that matters. I spend so much time analyzing… when you analyze people from a leadership perspective: their abilities, and weaknesses, it can feel critical… but it is necessary for the success of the venture, is it not? It is not one of my favorite aspects of the way I am wired… I have to analyze EVERYTHING!

Again, have deviated from my task today… analyze what God has put on my heart.
