Be Filled
2019 Be Filled
I have a
beautiful cup, but an empty cup after having poured out my heart, my anxiety,
my fears into God’s very capable hands.
As I look into my glass, empty and beautiful, I consider three things:
1) What should I do with this beautiful
clean glass?
I see three choices:
1)
I could leave it here and use a Styrofoam cup…
2) I could use it as I have in the past… and hide the contents
When we white wash it to make it look perfect, it does not change the contents,
it changes the authenticity of our ministry…
3) I can use it for its intended purpose
There are three steps to effectively use this cup,
1)
Cleansing
2) Filling
3) Using the cup
2) What would God like to fill it with now that I’ve emptied this glass?
Ecclesiastes 4:13 New King James Version
(NKJV)
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two
can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Three strands… to be complete
How does God desire to fill me physically, emotionally, spiritually?
3) What is preventing me from being filled?
Exodus 19 – we have come to the base of the mountain… It is loud,
it can be frightening
There is a cost to anointing with that costly fragrance.
- Psalm 24 – Cleansed – the fragrance will not cover our own aroma
- “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.
- What’s keeping us from stepping outside our
comfort zone, and stepping into the presence of God to be filled?
