Victimization, Encouraging someone to be defined by an event or difficult circumstance, is a form of taking away their power, a way to shame, control and/or manipulate them.
Encouraging someone to acknowledge their feelings about a circumstance or event, and process those feelings, empowers… a circumstance or event is something that happened, it is not who we ARE, unless we choose to allow it to define us.
